The annual July Festival showcasing contemporary performing arts continues for this last week of July. Founded in 1947, it is a calendar event for international theater goers drawing over 130,000 admissions. Dedicated to the performing arts, more than 50 pieces are presented each year including at least one premiere each night. Main performances are held in the courtyard of the architecturally treasured Palace of the Popes. An additional 20 venues accommodate exhibitions, performances, films, readings and discussions.
